About Me
Who? Look at the header.
Where? Isla de Margarita, Venezuela. A warm and warm place. Born there, in 1981.
Why? These are some notes for studying Computer Science. I could simply keep these notes private, but it's my belief that, by publishing them, other more experienced people could spot and point out any errors in my theories and code. Thank you in advance.
Gmail Contact? haelock
Work? I work as an international consultant, in the area of software architecture and development, mostly with business and scientific applications.
Degrees? My knowledge of Computer Science is solid, but in no way complete or extremely advanced. I know the fundamentals of Operating Systems, Programming Languages, Software Engineering, Signal Processing and related topics. Above all, I know that Computer Science is a very mutable field, and that's why I keep studying. Academically, in 2001 I earned the Venezuela's five years Informatics undergraduate degree in "Universidad de Oriente" (Summa Cum Laude honors). I also hold Magister Scientae in Computer Science (2004) and Doctor of Applied Sciences (2006) degrees from "Universidad de Los Andes".
Research? Here are two links you can follow to know the type of research I do:
- A paper in English: Genetic Learning of Vocal Tract Area Functions for Articulatory Synthesis of Spanish Vowels (2006). Journal of Applied Soft Computing (ISSN 1568-4946).
- A paper in Spanish: Aprendizaje Inductivo, Abductivo y Deductivo con Algoritmos Genéticos (2004). Journal "Ingeniería Informática'' (ISSN 0717-4195).
Do you code? Well, among other software, I built an articulatory speech synthesizer in MATLAB and used some Machine Learning techniques to teach it how to utter specific phonemes and concatenations. I also designed a multiparadigm programming language (neWay Lab 0.3) for "Universidad de Oriente", and coded a compiler for it. Furthermore, I implemented a distributed system for controlling networks of advertisement Kiosks. I have designed or developed plenty of other systems.
Hobbies? Programming. Soccer. Baseball.
